RUPERT, Idaho (AP) — A Heyburn Police officer has been charged with misdemeanor battery, the second such charge filed against him in several months.
The Times-News reports (http://goo.gl/9l0Gm1 ) that Minidoka deputies say Jeremiah Justesen grabbed a boy by the throat and put him in a headlock after the boy refused to leave with him in early January. The officer told a deputy that it was the boy who pushed him.
A call a number for Justesen rang unanswered on Saturday.
Justesen was also charged in October with domestic battery in the presence of a child, a misdemeanor. He entered a not guilty plea in that case.
Police say in September Justesen grabbed a woman by her wrists, hit her in the back of the head and pushed on her throat while two children were present.
Heyburn Police Chief Dan Bristol declined to say whether Justesen has faced disciplinary action.
Justesen is to be arraigned on Thursday on latest battery charge.
