HALEIWA, Hawaii (AP) — Twelve U.S. Marines are still missing in the Pacific Ocean after two helicopters carrying six crew members each crashed off the Hawaiian island of Oahu during a nighttime training mission on Thursday. Rescuers are searching choppy waters where debris was sighted. There's no immediate word on the fate of those aboard or what caused the accident.

OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso (AP) — An upscale hotel in the capital of the West African nation of Burkina Faso is burning after commandos laid siege to the building in an effort to free an unknown number of hostages taken by al-Qaida militants. The fire began after the commandos used explosives to enter the building. Officials say 30 hostages have been freed. Others remain inside.

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) — Ecuador says it'll allow Swedish prosecutors to interrogate Wikileaks founder Julian Assange at the country's embassy in London where the activist has lived since 2012. Assange is an Australian citizen. He sought refuge at the embassy to avoid being extradited to Sweden, where he's wanted for questioning over sexual assault allegations made by two women.

DENVER (AP) — Several news organizations are petitioning the Colorado Supreme Court to reverse a judge's order to seal details of the case against Colorado Planned Parenthood shooter Robert Dear. The local and national news outlets, including The Associated Press, filed the petition Friday, arguing the public has a constitutional right to monitor the operations of the court system.

NEW YORK (AP) — Dan Haggerty has died. The rugged, bearded actor who starred in the film and TV series "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" about a mountain man and animal trainer died Friday at a hospital in Burbank, California. He was 74. His manager says Haggerty had been battling cancer of the spine. Haggerty had a lifelong affinity for wild animals and worked as a trainer.
