FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Isaiah Miles scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and DeAndre Bembry added 16 points and 11 rebounds as Saint Joseph's beat George Mason 87-73 on Wednesday night.
Miles finished with 8-of-11 shooting from the field and Bembry with 7-of-14 shooting for the Hawks (13-3, 3-1 Atlantic 10 Conference). Papa Ndao and James Demery scored 13 points apiece and Shavar Newkirk had 12. Saint Joseph's averaged 41.9 percent shooting from the field and 80 percent from the line.
Saint Joseph's scored first and stayed on top on its way to a 46-35 lead at the break.
George Mason closed it to 46-43 early in the second half but Miles and Bembry traded dunks and Demery sank a 3-pointer as part of a 15-7 surge that gave the Hawks a 61-50 advantage with 11:01 to play.
Marquis Moore scored 21 points with seven rebounds for the Patriots (6-11, 0-4).
