Krueger wins 1,000 and 3,000 in US Short Track Championships

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — John-Henry Krueger won the men's 1,000- and 3,000-meter finals Sunday in the U.S. Short Track Championships.

The meet determines the skaters for the ISU World Cup teams in Dresden, Germany; Dordrecht, Netherlands; and the world championship team in Seoul, South Korea.

Kruger took the 1,000 in 1 minute, 24.574 seconds, and the 3,000 in 4:57.454. Cole Krueger was second in the 3,000 and third in the 3,000. Keith Carroll Jr. was second in the 1,000.

Jessica Smith Kooreman won the women's 1,000 in 1:32.493 and placed second in the 3,000. April Shin took the 3,000 in 5:13.157 and was third in the 1,000. Kimberly Goetz was second in the 1,000, and Alexis Burkholder was third in the 3,000.
