GARDEN CITY, Idaho (AP) — Ada County authorities say the gun show in Garden City this weekend will be the last for a while, as they look into increasing gun show security. KTVB-TV reports the decision was made in light of several recent accidental weapon discharges at recent gun shows. Lewis Clark Trader, which is putting on the event at Expo Idaho, says talks about upping security at gun shows started last fall.
JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Hunters have killed about 100 bison in Jackson Hole since the bison hunt season started Aug. 15. Wildlife managers say the number is about a third of the record bison harvest a year ago in northwest Wyoming. Wyoming Game and Fish Department wildlife biologists tell the Jackson Hole News & Guide that they would like to see 170 bison taken this year to keep the population stable.

Fish and Game officials say the flights are needed to put tracking collars on elk.
KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — Idaho Power is planning to rebuild an aging transmission line that provides electricity to the Wood River Valley. The Idaho Mountain Express reports that the utility will rebuild the 59-mile-long line over the next two years. An environmental assessment released by the BLM last month indicates that the project will have little impact on the environment.
