TAYLORSVILLE — One of Utah's car racing stars passed away this week.

Loved ones of Odis Price said his passion for driving anything with four wheels knew no bounds. Now, with help from a local custom paint shop, Odis Price is getting one last ride.

"We're sisters, and that's our father, Odis Price. His legacy was, as a race car driver, was driving (the number) 45 (race car)," said Annette Price Coester alongside her sister Holly Price.

Odis Price passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, in Taylorsville at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and children Annette, Holly and Shawn.

"We grew up with watching my dad win race after race after race," Holly Price said.

To honor Odis' racing legacy, Lynch Mob Customs of Draper helped in paying tribute by painting his casket to look like his old number 45 race car with a wing on it.

"Since his passing, we've had several people commenting on childhood stories of how my dad was so great with them, motivated them and inspired them to follow their dreams," said Holly Price.

"We're super proud of our father," Coester said.

"We're just hoping that he's watching right now and being able to enjoy us honoring him," Holly Price said. "We are just so proud that we can do this for our dad."

For the Price sisters, it was one last expression of love to honor their father's legacy.

"We haven't forgotten what mattered to him," Holly Price said. "He loved his family too, but racing was in his veins."

Odis Price was laid to rest at Holladay Memorial Park on Saturday.
