ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Adonys Henriquez snapped a 35-35 tie with a 3-point shot early in the second half and Central Florida went on to a 75-64 win over South Florida on Wednesday night.
Henriquez scored a season-high 20 points and Matt Williams 13 — each with four 3-pointers — for the Knights (8-5, 2-0 American Athletic Conference). A.J. Davis added 16, including 10 for 10 at the foul line.
Williams made his four 3s in the first 10 minutes, shooting UCF into leads as large as 15 points in the first half before South Florida began to close the gap. Chris Perry completed the comeback with a jump shot and free throw after being fouled on the shot to knot the game at 35-35 26 seconds into the second half.
Jaleel Cousins, a 6-foot-11 senior, scored 19 points with 13 rebounds, his sixth double-double of the season, for the Bulls (3-13, 0-3).
