BLUFFDALE, Utah (AP) — Two Bluffdale businesses and their respective orders have been accused of dumping concrete mix and other materials along the bank of the Jordan River.

The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1WCXDQ3 ) that William Brent Baker and his fence and sound wall manufacturing company Owell Precast, and William Nielsen Ashton and his company L&B Resources have been charged with two third-degree felony counts of violating the federal Water Quality Act.

A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers inspector told Salt Lake County officials that he had seen cured cement, concrete mix and other debris repeatedly being dumped near the river.

L&B Resources owns the land in question and Owell Precast was operating on the property.

Court summons were issued Thursday for Baker and Ashton, but no arrest warrants were filed.
