Two Utah state office holders seeking re-election would win handily if the election were held today.
A new Dan Jones poll for KSL-TV and the Deseret News shows both Gov. Jon Huntsman and Attorney General Mark Shurtleff have commanding leads over their opponents.
The poll finds registered voters overwhelmingly prefer Huntsman over opponent Bob Springmeyer 78 percent to 11 percent.
It also finds that Huntsman is well liked by voters, with an 84 percent approval rating.
Shurtleff also has a commanding lead over his closest opponent in the polls. Sixty-eight percent of registered voters polled said they would vote for him; 17 percent said they would choose challenger Jean Welch Hill.
