EPHRAIM — The first college football game of the year in Utah came in Ephraim, where Snow College held off Mesa Community College, 24-21 on Saturday afternoon.

Former Bingham quarterback Stefan Cantwell connected with Jonah Trinnaman of American Fork for the game's first touchdown, giving the Badgers (1-0) a 10-0 lead in the third quarter after a scoreless first half.

The Badgers added a short touchdown burst through Stephan Shepard to take a 17-7 advantage into the fourth quarter, when Cantwell hooked up with former Bonnevile receiver Alex Croyle for a 17-yard touchdown pass that would prove to be the gamewinner.
