LAS VEGAS (AP) — Construction of a stage at the Bellagio fountains on the Las Vegas Strip is going to slow traffic Monday through Thursday.

MGM Resorts announced Friday that a portion of three southbound lanes in front of the fountains would be closed to traffic for four days.

The closure is making room for a crane to install a 165-foot stage on the man-made lake where a Kabuki Spactacle show will be staged Aug. 14-15 in front of the fountains. Animations are expected to be projected on the water features.

Foot traffic on the sidewalk in front of the fountain could also be affected. The company warns pedestrians might be stopped from passing or re-routed to the other side of the Strip to get around the construction.
