SHOSHONE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State Police says one man has died and another was injured after a car crash south of Shoshone.

Investigators say the crash happened at about 6 a.m. on Saturday on U.S. 93, near milepost 70.

20-year-old Dallas J Edwards of Jerome, who was headed northbound on the highway in his pickup, crossed the center line and struck the vehicle traveling southbound head-on.

The driver of the south-bound car, 67-year-old Juan Garcia-Venegas, died at the scene.

Edwards' pickup overturned and landed on its roof. Edwards was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The road was blocked for approximately five hours because of the crash.

Police say both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The accident remains under investigation.
