Bamboo HR
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Ben Peterson and Ryan Sanders, who would become business partners at Bamboo HR, met one day and discussed something they noticed about business. Many times companies have major difficulties with processing and hiring employees.
Ryan, who had worked for a local company with high turnover, mentioned that the company had little to no training and what they did have wasn't great. They felt this was the opportunity to do something to solve that problem. Their goal was not to create software to solve everything, just provide help with key process and operations and avoid silos. It was this inspiration that helped them conclude they had the right skillset to help. And that's how Bamboo HR got its start.
The company provides HR software with the mission of automating highly-transactional functions. This helps with business tracking, opening an effective way to get businesses on the right path from the first day they install the software.
One competitive advantage is that other HR companies and payroll outsource operations don't do HR like Bamboo, so they fill that gap with the employee in mind. They track entire pay history, benefit information and offer document storage for employee records. In essence, the software includes anything that is automated collectively so data is all in one place.
The name Bamboo stuck because of the attributes it possesses. It represents versatility, and they wanted Bamboo HR to be known for this characteristic in streamlining multiple issues. Bamboo is also found in calm places, another characteristic of their company. Today, Bamboo HR has 135 employees, and they're found in over 70 countries and seven different languages. It's a community of people who love what they do and love to work for a company with such a direct impact. The culture inside the company is reflective of that idea, with empowered employees and a focus on work/life balance.
Companies like Bamboo HR are one example of why Forbes magazine named Utah as the best state for business and careers. For over 140 years, Zions Bank has been providing value to the communities we serve. Member FDIC.
