OGDEN — A man who allegedly hired another man to kill his daughter's boyfriend was prepared to pay him $5,000, according to newly-released court documents.
Joseph Larry Lopez, 59, hired David Allen Northcutt, 40, to kill his adult daughter's boyfriend, according to Riverdale police.
On Monday, the Weber County Attorney's Office charged both men with conspiracy to commit aggravated murder, a first-degree felony.
Lopez paid Northcutt $1,000 in cash up front and then promised an additional $4,000 once the deed was completed, according to a newly released probable cause statement. Northcutt said he'd shoot the boyfriend "between the eyes" with a gun he owned, charging documents state.

Two weeks later, Lopez and Northcutt got into an argument over money owed and refunds and both called police. After detectives questioned both men they were able to figure out what was going on.
Neither police nor prosecutors have said why they believe Lopez wanted his daughter's boyfriend dead.
