NORTH SALT LAKE — Police arrested a man who they say held a woman against her will, threatened her with a knife and beat her.
A neighbor called police just after midnight to report a domestic dispute at the Eaglewood Lofts at 235 S. Orchard Drive in North Salt Lake, according to Chief Craig Black of the North Salt Lake Police Department.
When officers arrived at the residence, they found the woman in a bedroom and a man barricaded inside a bathroom, refusing to come out.
After about an hour, the man surrendered, Black said.
Police arrested Daniel Virgo and booked him into jail for investigation of aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping, according to Black.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries. A 6- or 7-year-old child in the home was not injured, Black said.
The relationship between the man and woman was not immediately clear.
