CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Two Las Vegas police officers who were ambushed and killed last year while eating lunch are being honored at an annual ceremony honoring Nevada's fallen law enforcement officials. Officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo will be recognized in a ceremony today at the Capitol grounds in Carson City. The 18th annual ceremony honors the 128 Nevada peace officers who have been killed in the line of duty since 1861.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Manny Pacquiao underwent surgery on his injured right shoulder yesterday following his loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas. Pacquiao's spokesman quoted the fighter's surgeon in Los Angeles as saying he fully expects Pacquiao to make a full recovery. The surgery came four days after Pacquiao fought Mayweather at the MGM Grand hotel, dropping a unanimous 12-round decision.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Lawmakers are reviewing a bill that would admit hearsay evidence in the early stages of some court cases. The bill deals with hearsay evidence, such as an accuser's account of a crime as told to police. Under the bill, hearsay could be brought up in a preliminary hearing or in secret grand jury proceedings for child sex abuse or domestic violence cases.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Mariah Carey says she hit the jackpot with her opening night audience at The Colosseum inside Caesars Palace for her nearly two-hour career retrospective. Last night the pop icon joined the very elite Vegas club of performers who take up residence at a venue on the Strip. Her show "Mariah #1 to Infinity" catalogues her 18 number one hit singles in chronological order. Tickets cost $55 to $250.
