TAMPA — A woman in Tampa was cleaning out her grandparents' attic last week when she found an interesting — but disgusting — family artifact.

The box contained coins, a photograph of a couple, a map and a human hand. The hand was secured to the box with a copper wire and sported a ring on one of the fingers, WFLA reports.

Mike Lopez told WFLA he thinks the picture is of his great-grandparents Eve and Ernesto Lopez and that the map is related to José Gaspar, a pirate who supposedly raided Florida coasts in the 1800s.

Some people believe the map could lead to buried treasure.
