How can we help children with disabilities reach their full potential and gain independence? The goal of the Now I Can Foundation in Provo is to give every child the help they need in order to exclaim, "Now I can do this!" Now I Can works with children that have neuromuscular disabilities and offers a very unique form of intensive physical therapy. The group's founders discovered this therapy in Poland and brought it to Utah to make it available to children here. The intensive physical therapy they use means kids receive therapy five days a week, four hours a day, for three weeks. This kind of repetition helps kids sit, stand, and walk for the first time, leading to greater independence. Now I Can helps children of all ages to improve their strength, relieve pain, or recover from injury. Those with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, traumatic brain injury, or developmental delays will all benefit from this intensive therapy. SelectHealth recognizes the liberating help provided by the Now I Can Foundation as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
