DELANO, Calif. (AP) — Central California authorities say a man was seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting and his older brother died in a car crash while trying to chase down the gunman.

Alma Perez tells KBAK-TV (http://bit.ly/1Fnii4C ) that her brother 25-year-old Uriel Perez was shot in the head late Sunday outside the family home in Delano. Police say at least 10 shots were fired.

Minutes after getting the call about the shooting, police received reports of a car crash. Officers found 27-year-old Gumaro Perez dead, his car smashed into a tree and brick wall.

Police say the older Perez went after his brother's shooter in a high-speed chase. The shooter got away.

Investigators haven't named a suspect in the shooting but say the vehicle is a silver Chrysler 300.

Uriel Perez remains hospitalized.
