CHICAGO (AP) — Officials in suburban Chicago have not identified the source of a measles infection at a day care center. They say five infants who attend KinderCare Learning Center in Palatine, Illinois have been diagnosed with measles and about 10 more children could have been exposed. Some of the children are too young to be vaccinated. Federal health officials say there've been at least 102 other measles cases this year, and 94 are related to an outbreak at Disneyland in California.

VALHALLA, N.Y. (AP) — A funeral is set for Friday for the driver of an SUV that was hit by a commuter train north of New York City, killing her and five rail passengers. The service for 49-year-old Ellen Brody will be in Dobbs Ferry, New York. A witness says Brody got out of her vehicle when a railroad crossing gate came down on her SUV, got back in and drove onto the train track. Investigators are trying to figure out why she would have done that.

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — The leaders of France and Germany are headed to Moscow Friday to discuss the crisis in eastern Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin. German Chancellor Angela Merkel (AHN'-geh-lah MEHR'-kuhl) and French President Francois Hollande (frahn-SWAH' oh-LAWND') say they have a peace plan and they met Thursday with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in a hastily arranged mission to bring an end to the accelerated fighting in east Ukraine.

NEW YORK (AP) — An Egyptian lawyer who admits spreading terrorist threats after the 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania is scheduled to be sentenced in a federal court in Manhattan Friday. Prosecutors are asking that Adel Abdul Bary be sentenced to the maximum 25 years in prison under a plea deal he reached last year. Prosecutors say Bary acted as a "conduit for communications" between the media and his co-conspirators, including al-Qaida's then leader, Osama bin Laden.

NEW YORK (AP) — A new report says New York City's effort to modernize its 911 system is years behind schedule and $700 million over budget. And the report blames former Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration. The Department of Investigation probe contends that Bloomberg and his team did not ensure that the police and fire departments and other agencies coordinated efforts. The overall cost of the project now exceeds $2 billion.
