FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Quinton Upshur had a season-high 31 points and Northern Arizona stopped Northern Colorado's comeback bid in the final seconds Thursday night for a 65-60 victory.
Northern Colorado's Cameron Michael missed a 3-point attempt that would have tied the game with 15 seconds left and Upshur hit two free throws to cap the scoring.
Upshur's 3-pointer with 1:40 left gave the Lumberjacks (11-11, 6-3 Big Sky) a 61-57 lead. Dominique Lee's basket with 33 seconds pulled Northern Colorado (11-10, 6-4) within 62-60 and Kris Yanku pushed the lead back to three on a free throw with 27 seconds left.
Upshur was 5 of 10 from 3-point range and 8 of 8 from the foul line. The 6-foot-5 guard also had eight rebounds and four blocks. Yanku finished with 13 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Michael made 6 of 10 3-pointers and finished with 22 points to lead the Bears.
