LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas say a 19-year-old motorist is dead and the driver of another car received minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash several miles east of downtown.

Investigators say the teen was driving a Nissan 350Z that was hit by a Toyota Prius a little before 4 p.m. Friday on Sahara Avenue at Sloan Lane.

The Nissan slammed into a traffic signal pole and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name wasn't immediately made public.

Police say it appears the Prius was turning left from Sahara onto Sloan when it collided with the Nissan.

The Prius driver, 29-year-old Claudia Rincon, remained reported the crash. Police say she was treated for minor injuries.
