HUNTINGTON, W.Va., Jun 26, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A cheerleader has filed a detailed sexual harassment suit against Marshall University in West Virginia.

The woman charges she was subjected to an environment of sexual harassment and abuse by male members of the cheerleading squad. The male cheerleaders allegedly exposed themselves, fondled female teammates and subjected some of the women to other degrading actions, the Court TV Web site reported.

The complaint filed in Kanawha County (W.Va.) Circuit Court this month lists a number of instances of improper behavior including one on which the captain of the team allegedly exposed himself and, Court TV reported the lawsuit said, "rubbed his testicles on the head and face of cheerleaders."

The woman, who landed a cheerleading scholarship to the Huntington, W.Va., school, also charges the team's coaching staff did nothing to stop the harassment and allowed the male squad members to call cheers by names with sexual overtones, Court TV said..
