A couple of our viewers have written to express views contrary to those taken by KSL in recent editorials
In one editorial, KSL expressed support for a proposal that would grant the District of Columbia representation in the U.S. House of Representatives. From Roger I. Price of Huntsville came this reply:
"To give the District one voting representative in the House appears to be a fine gesture, but that gesture is either an act of ignorance of the law, or an act of willful, arrogant disregard for the Supreme Law of the Land - the U.S. Constitution!"
In another editorial, KSL criticized Utah legislators for stubbornly failing to fund dental and vision benefits for some of Utah's most needy citizens. State Representative Karen Morgan, a democrat, took objection to our generalization:
"As a legislator, I would really appreciate it if you would place the blame appropriately. It was the republican legislators who refused to bring this bill forward for a vote, and in the last legislative session, democrats supported this funding unanimously. Not a single democrat voted against it."
