COUNCIL, Idaho (AP) — The Adams County sheriff's office says a small plane carrying one person has crashed north of the Council airport. KTVB-TV reports the lone occupant was pronounced dead at the scene yesterday. That pilot was not immediately identified. Adams County deputies, Idaho State Police and local firefighters responded. The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified. Council is about 80 miles north of Boise.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — An Oregon man has acknowledged flying an unmanned aircraft near bison and over Yellowstone's crowded Midway Geyser Basin. Park officials say Donald Criswell of Molalla pleaded guilty Thursday to violating a closure when he flew a drone in the park Aug. 19. He was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay court costs.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Former Idaho GOP Schools Superintendent Jerry Evans has endorsed the Democratic gubernatorial candidate A.J. Balukoff rather than Republican incumbent Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter. Evans served as the state's elected statewide superintendent from 1979 to 1995. Despite being a lifelong Republican, Evans says that Idaho schools have been abandoned under Otter.
PLUMMER, Idaho (AP) — Police are looking for a fugitive they say fired shots at officers after a pursuit near Plummer. The Benewah County Sheriff's Office tells KHQ-TV that John Crispin fled from Coeur d'Alene Tribal Police about 11:20 a.m. yesterday. Authorities say police chased Crispin north on U.S. Highway 95 for several miles until he fired shots at them and fled on foot. Police from several agencies are attempting to track Crispin.
