TREMONTON, Utah (AP) — A former Tremonton police officer who once investigated sex abuse cases has pleaded guilty to sexually exploiting a 15-year-old girl.
Jeremy Rose, who left the force last July, is accused of convincing the girl to submit about 150 nude photos of herself to a fake pornography email account he created.
Prosecutors say the 37-year-old Rose also had thousands of images of the teen that had been surreptitiously taken of her in her bedroom.
Rose pleaded guilty this week to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of voyeurism, communications fraud, dealing in harmful materials to a minor and stalking.
He faces sentences of one to 15 years in prison for each of the sexual exploitation charges and the communications fraud count when he's sentenced Nov. 24.
