ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Omar Osbourne ran for 193 yards and two scores and Will Fiacchi accounted for four touchdowns to lead Albany past Columbia, 42-7, on Saturday night.
Albany (4-0) scored 28 second-quarter points and took a 35-0 lead into halftime.
Fiacchi, who completed just 6 of 16 passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns, connected with Cole King for 13-yard score, giving Albany a 14-0 lead. On the ensuing kickoff, Olatunji Idowa forced a fumble and Kyle Sakowski recovered it on the 35. After a holding penalty, Osbourne scored on a 45-yard run with 11:31 left in the half.
Albany, which came into the game ranked 3rd in the FCS in scoring defense (11.0 per game) and 4th in rushing yards allowed (72.3 per game), forced five turnovers while limiting Columbia (0-2) to 256 total yards.
The Great Danes rushed for 373 yards on 37 carries.
