MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — A Coast Guard plane has landed safely in Mobile, Alabama, after experiencing a problem with its landing gear.
The medium-range search-and-rescue plane took off for a training flight just after 9 a.m. Thursday.
Coast Guard Lt. j.g. Jason Carter said the four-person crew noticed there was a problem with the landing gear of the HC-144A shortly after it left. The problem was fixed during the flight, allowing the plane to return safely to the Coast Guard's Aviation Training Center around 2:30 p.m.
