SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Two people are dead after a plane crash in northern Arizona's Mohave County near the Utah border. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the crash around 7:30 last night in a remote area known as the Virgin River Gorge. The FAA says that the plane went down and was on fire.
MYTON, Utah (AP) — Fire has destroyed the iconic buildings of a family-owned feed store in Duchesne County. Authorities say the store and the silos of Ross Brothers Seed & Feed burned in yesterday afternoon's fire in Myton, but a warehouse was saved. The feed store has been a town landmark for at least 70 years.
ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) — The trial of a Utah man charged with bashing his wife with a rock and pushing her off a cliff in Maine is winding down. Closing arguments are set today in the trial of 71-year-old Charles Black, who's charged with hitting Lisa Zahn in the head with a rock before pushing her off a cliff in 2011. Both of them fell, and both survived. Black is a former Camden, Maine, resident who now lives in Salt Lake City.
BOISE CITY, Okla. (AP) — A family who was excommunicated from Warren Jeffs' polygamous sect has moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle, raising concerns among some residents. George Barlow served as mayor of Colorado City, Arizona, from 2011 to 2013. Jeffs is serving a life sentence for sexually assaulting child brides. About 300 people recently gathered into the local banquet hall to discuss their concerns about the new residents.
