SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police are trying to figure out whether speed or distracted driving were factors in a crash that sent a man and his mini-van through the front doors of a Wells Fargo bank.
Investigators said the driver was trying to turn right on 1700 South from Redwood Road Monday evening when he hit a light pole, blew a tire and lost control. The van came to a stop halfway inside the bank building.
No one was inside the bank at the time.
The driver and his 8-year-old daughter, who was in the back seat, were not injured.
Police said the driver could face a citation when the investigation concludes.
