DALLAS, Jun 8, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A Dallas auction failed to get the reserve $100,000 bid for a rocking chair used by the late President John F. Kennedy, putting it back on the available list.
The chair, believed to have been presented by the president of Pakistan, was one of several Kennedy had used to ease his back pain. The Heritage Auction Galleries had hoped it would go for $100,000 or more, The Dallas Morning News reported Thursday.
The auctioneer said the chair would be available at Heritage's Web site for the next week. Several other Kennedy items also did not sell at the Wednesday auction.
Kennedy rockers have fetched from $96,000 to as much as $453,000 at auctions.
