Englehart joins newly appointed SIM CEO Scott Dickey to head up a management team that includes Chris Argentieri, President, and Bill Sutman, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Englehart and Dickey worked together previously at active lifestyle and live-event company Competitor Group (CGI).
“Peter and Scott make a formidable team; their combined leadership at SIM will enable the management team to best steer the company as it moves into a new stage of growth and expansion,” said Ted Lodge, who will remain on the Board as a Director. “I’m happy to be passing the Chairman’s baton to Peter, and placing SIM in such good hands. Peter is a proven builder of successful businesses, and with decades of experience creating some of America’s most distinguished sports brands, he is ideally suited to take over the reins as Chairman of the Board at SIM.”
Englehart joins SIM after leading the management team at Javo Beverage Company for NY-based private equity firm Falconhead Capital. Prior to Javo, Englehart was CEO and Chairman of the Competitor Group (CGI), a company he founded in 2007. Under Englehart’s leadership, CGI became the world’s largest endurance sports media and event company, overseeing five magazines with a monthly circulation of over 800,000, multiple Internet properties, and a portfolio of high profile international sports events. Prior to founding Competitor Group, he spent nine years leading the Outdoor Life Network, now known as NBC Sports Channel, a company he co-founded in 1995. Englehart's media experience also includes previous tenures at ABC Sports and ESPN.
“I’m delighted to be joining Source Interlink Media at this time; it has a wealth of highly regarded brands and numerous opportunities for the company’s further development and success,” said Peter Englehart. “The company is at an important juncture as it moves to expand in a challenging media environment, and I look forward to working together with Scott and the seasoned management team as we enter this exciting new chapter of growth.”
