(KSL News) Another attempt by the widow of Richard Ricci, the one-time suspect in the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping, to sue the Salt Lake City Police department has failed.
The 10th U.S. District Court of Appeals upheld the dismissal of the wrongful death lawsuit.
The court agreed police had no involvement in the confinement conditions of Ricci before he died behind bars from a cerebral hemorrhage.
The original lawsuit was thrown out last year. At that time, the judge said Angela Ricci did not present solid facts to back up her claim police were responsible for the detention conditions of her husband.
