EVANSTON, Ill., May 16, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The women's soccer team at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., has been suspended because of Internet photos depicting hazing and suggestive poses.
Mike Wolf, an NU assistant athletic director, said the team has been suspended from any "organized activities" as school officials investigate photos posted on the badjocks.com Web site discovered Monday.
The women in the pictures appear to be freshmen undergoing hazing, and were shown kissing one another, blindfolded or bound, and dressed only in t-shirts and underwear, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The Wildcats are scheduled to start their 2006 season in August. The women's soccer team finished the 2005 season in 10th place with a 9-9-1 record, 2-7-1 in Big Ten play.
