This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Any market around the world is going to expand or contract. And no one knows this better than Connor Sport Court International, as their international business continues to grow, with 26 percent growth in the last year alone. Although the European market has contracted, Asia, Africa and the Middle East have expanded, becoming one of the fastest areas of growth for this Salt Lake City company.
It's hitting a market different than their high-end flooring. This modular flooring is receiving support from elementary schools, middle schools and churches, and private residences. Connor Sport Court International's customer base loves its high performance and price range.
Since 1872, what Connor is most known for is their maple wood flooring that you'll see in NCAA Championships, NBA basketball courts, the Olympics and in locations on all seven continents. Their brilliant engineers and production people are driving this division of the company. They work with maple forests and lumber mills to purchase their wood. Just so you know, maple is considered a renewable resource, and there's more maple forests today than there was in the 50s.
For anyone looking for an even greener option, Connor Sport Court International also has a Sport Court sub-floor product for under their Connor maple floor made out of 100 percent recycled plastic. It can even add to a building's LEED certification. Instead of using plywood, it uses recycled plastic and is made in Salt Lake City.
Connor Sport Court International will be honored on May 29 for their success in global exporting at Zions Bank's Trade and Business Conference.
For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
