TOOELE — The Tooele County Sheriff's Office is under investigation, county officials said Thursday. But what the investigation is about isn't exactly clear.
"Tooele County officials have spoken with professional investigators from outside Tooele County who are looking into allegations within the Sheriff's Office," county spokesman Wade Matthews said.
Matthews said multiple Utah agencies are looking into recent allegations the county has received. What those allegations are, he couldn't say.
"I don't know who brought forward that information. I know an email has been sent out. I don't know where that email came from," Matthews said.
Matthews did, however, confirm it's a single person in question.
"It's not the office," he said. "I don't know who exactly is being looked into."
Matthews also said it's a single incident that's being investigated. He doesn't know when the investigation is expected to wrap up, but so far no one has been put on administrative leave.
KSL News also spoke with Tooele County Sheriff Frank Park Thursday. He said the county attorney told him not talk about the investigation.
