ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Police say a 12-year-old boy was hospitalized over the weekend after apparently being stabbed during a fight in a St. George park.
St. George Police Sgt. Craig Harding says the boy was walking through Dixie Downs Park Saturday night with a friend when he was attacked. Harding says the boy was hit with a baseball bat and kicked before being stabbed several times in the back.
The friend ran for help and gave a description of a getaway car to police.
Harding says investigators believe the attack is gang-related because some of those police believe are involved associated with an area gang.
School resources officers have been notified.
