NEW ORLEANS — Super Bowl XLVII started off as a lopsided game and it looked like the Baltimore Ravens were going to run away with it without a fight.
Well, the San Francisco 49ers decided they didn't want the Ravens to get the win so easily and decided to put up a fight n the second half.
The Ravens jumped out to an early and dominating lead and some great players with Utah ties helped Baltimore get the early lead.

The former Utah Ute and Utah native had a big sack on 49ers QB Kaepernick to kill a solid drive. But despite solid play Kruger wasn't seeing as much playing time as many expected.
"I am wondering why Paul Kruger isn't playing more?" tweeted former BYU and current Dallas Cowboys linebacker @BradyPoppinga. "All he does is disrupt QB."
Former BYU tight end Dennis Pitta has been a big part of the Ravens offense this year and he continued to contribute in the Super Bowl.
"Hey Diddle Diddle, Ray Rice as the decoy. TD Pitta!" tweeted @PeytonsHead.
Pitta finished the season with over 700 yards and a Super Bowl ring.
"And...Dennis Pitta walked on at BYU," tweeted @Mark_Schlabach.
Pitta played so well during the season and in the Super Bowl that even some Utah fans decided to give him some love.
"I respect Pitta's game even though he went to BYU," tweeted @Kscott_2.
Utah native and Highland High School alum Haloti Ngata was also a huge part of the Ravens team this season and was a big reason the Ravens made it to the Super Bowl.
Ngata had a solid game, but unfortunately the all-pro defensive lineman went down with an injury in the second half.
"Haloti Ngata was down on the field after the play and is getting looked at by the medical staff. He's headed to the locker room now," tweeted @Ravens.
"Update on Haloti Ngata," tweeted @ClaytonESPN. "Knee sprain. Return is doubtful."
Unfortunately Ngata did not return, but he is now a Super Bowl champion nonetheless.
Colin Kaepernick started for the 49ers and got off to a slow start which prompted some to start calling for the return of former Ute and former San Francisco starter Alex Smith.
"Pretty much all of Utah calling for Alex Smith to start 2nd half," tweeted @Clintonnite33.
"Alex Smith time?" tweeted @MaddenProblemz.
Shortly after the second half started half the power in the Super Dome went out and delayed the game for 84 minutes. Apparently that's exactly what Kaepernick and the 49ers needed to get back on track.
Kaepernick got back on track and finished the day with 302 yards through the air and another 62 on the ground with one passing TD and another rushing.
"Big throws by Kaep, hopefully ends idiotic talk about bringing in Alex Smith," tweeted @GregBiggins.
The game ended up being more exciting than many thought it would be when the first half ended, but the comeback led by Kaepernick ended fell short in the end by two points.
While many fans from the state of Utah were disappointed that Alex Smith missed out on starting the Super Bowl and a ring, but others are excited for Paul Kruger, Dennis Pitta and Haloti Ngata on their Super owl championship.
