(KSL News) -- A Provo woman involved in an alleged car scam is now facing several charges.

Police say the 19-year old woman paid for cars out of an empty bank account.

Court documents say the woman recently set up a checking account at Wells Fargo. She would then call people selling their cars and offered to buy them. She would give them the checks and tell them it would take a while to get the money because she had a private banker.

The woman was arrested and booked into the Utah county Jail.

She faces several charges including joyriding, issuing a bad check, and driving without a license.
