Halloween was such a great day when I was a kid. You got to act weird while wearing a costume to school. Most of the day was just a party anyway. Then at night we would roam the streets getting candy…as much as wanted.
It seems a lot of that fun has changed now. I never heard of a trunk or treat when I was little. And I never worried about someone putting drugs or other crazy garbage in my Halloween goodie bag. And our house would often be visited by hundreds of kids.
Today where I live I’ll be lucky to get one trick or treater. But I’m sure even with all of today’s added precautions the kids will be just as excited as I ever was.
I hope they have a lot of fun tonight.
