(KSL News) The Murray Energy Corporation now says there's no longer a need for layoffs at its Carbon County coal mines.

The expected layoffs would have followed the release of dozens of workers after the collapse at the Crandall Canyon mine.

Instead of letting workers go, the company now plans to transfer 30 employees from the idled Tower mine to the West Ridge mine in Book Cliffs.

Twenty miners will stay at Tower to keep it ready to re-open.
