(KSL News) Utahns are giving more to presidential campaigns than ever before.
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Utah residents have donated more than $5.5 million to various presidential contenders. That is much more than residents in several more populous states. In fact, the state ranks 34th in population and 14th in campaign contributions.
The state ranks fourth in per capita donations.
Mitt Romney is thought to be the reason behind the jump in contributions since he previously helmed the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and is a member of the LDS Church.
