WEST VALLEY CITY - Stephen Holm scored a game-high 23 points including a game-tying three that sent the game to double overtime as Riverton outlasted Viewmont 52-51.
Holm completed a three-point play with 45 seconds left in regulation that tied the game. Both team had a possession with a chance to take the lead but couldn't convert so the game went to overtime.
Riverton trailed by three points with seven seconds left in overtime when D McCleary passed the ball to Stephen Holm who knocked down a three as time expired sending the game to double overtime.
Viewmont tied the game again in OT when Brody Bagshaw hit a three but just seconds later Riverton's Tevita Loamanu put back a miss to give Riverton a two-point lead.
That lead until there was three seconds left on the clock. Viewmont's Jared Tye was fouled and went to the line with a chance to tie the game. His first attempt was good but his second bounced off the rim. Riverton inbounded the ball and began celebrating as time expired.
Haden Heath led Viewmont in scoring with 13 points.
Riverton will play Alta in the 5A quarterfinals.
