SALT LAKE CITY — Some of Salt Lake's Olympic heroes are coming back.
Sarah Hughes captivated the nation as she emerged from fourth place to win the gold medal in women's figure skating in 2002. She was just 16 years old at the time.
- Date/Time: February 18, 2012; 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Location: EnergySolutions Arena
- Description: Skating show adapted to celebrate the 2002 Winter Olympic Games & Utah's Olympic legacy
- Admission: Tickets range from $30-$125 and can be purchased at www.saltlake2002.com
Organizers of the "Stars on Ice" show confirmed Hughes and other skaters — including Canadian pair David Pelletier and Jamie Sale — ill perform Feb. 18 at EnergySolutions Arena.
Pelletier and Sale were also part of Olympic history when it was revealed that, after their scores gave them the silver medal behind Russian duo Eleana Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze, a judge had been bribed to give Russia the edge in the competition. Instead, both pairs were given the gold and shared the 2002 Olympic podium together.
The "Stars on Ice" exhibition is part of a statewide celebration of 10th anniversary of the Salt Lake Olympic and Paralympic Games.
