LAMBS CANYON -- Getting stuck his car in the snow for a night was bad enough for a Texas man, but just as he was finally on his way out, his car slid off the road and rolled into a creek.

Police say the man was out for a scenic drive in Lambs Canyon when his Dodge Neon got stuck in the snow while still on the road. Unable to get the car out, he was forced to spend the night stuck there.

This morning, a group of bow hunters found him unable to extricate himself, and helped the man get the car moving again. But he soon ran into more trouble along the icy, snow-covered road just a little further down the canyon.

"He was on his way down, to get out of the canyon, (and) was unable to negotiate the turns," said officer Mike Naylor of the Unified Police Department.

The Neon slid entirely off the road and ended up on its side at the bottom of a low-running creek, with the man stuck in a few inches of water. Fortunately, the area is very popular with hunters; another group came across the crash within minutes and notified the authorities of the man's predicament.

He is now being treated for hypothermia but is otherwise unharmed.

Police say his tires were not appropriate for the driving conditions he found himself in on the drive.
