SALT LAKE CITY - KSL has learned that the Utah Jazz will play a pair of preseason games against the Portland Trailblazers. The Jazz will host the Blazers on Wednesday, December 21st at Energy Solutions Arena.
Fans will be able to get their first look at the post- lockout Jazz when the team holds a free open scrimmage at Energy Solutions Arena on Saturday, December 17th.
Beginning Wednesday, teams can talk to agents though deals cannot be offered and no contracts can be signed until Free Agency begins on December 9th. Players will be allowed to work out at team facilities beginning Thursday. They have been banned from team facilities since the lockout began on July 1st.
The league previously announced that if the tentative agreement reached between owners and players is ratified the NBA will play a 66-game season. The league would begin play December 25th with 5 games on Christmas Day. Each team will play 48 conference games and 18 non-conference games. The NBA regular season schedule has not yet been released.
