PROVO — BYU dominated nearly every aspect of the game as the Cougars got a win over Idaho in Provo, with BYU winning 42-7. Here is a look at some of the top performers.

Jake Heaps

Jake Heaps came into the game and managed it well. Heaps looked like he belonged in the game and made pretty good decisions while he was playing. His deep throws were accurate and his timing on other throws seemed to be right on. Heaps now has to prove he can do that consistently and against opponents with winning records. Heaps was in the game for the first three quarters and was 15/20 for 185 yards.

Cody Hoffman

Cody Hoffman is the deep threat every team wants. Hoffman had several great catches and two touchdowns. Hoffman had the first touchdown of the game and set the pace for the rest of the evening. He had six receptions that resulted in 114 yards.

Brandon Doman

Brandon Doman called a great game. The playbook seemed to be balanced. The run plays looked good partially because the BYU offensive line dominated the Idaho defensive line. Doman knew what he could get away with and it was very effective. Doman trusted Heaps and allowed him to go deep. Doman gave Heaps the freedom to go into a hurry-up offense before the half. It was great to see BYU be aggressive instead coasting to the end of the half.

Michael Alisa

Michael Alisa led the way for BYU rushers with 99 yards on 10 carries. The running game kept the Vandals honest. Alisa looked great and averaged nearly 10 yards a carry. Alisa also finished with one touchdown.
