Andrew Adams, KSL NewsradioAn off-duty Salt Lake County Sheriff's deputy is in critical condition after a nasty crash on a motorcycle on I-215.
He was traveling along I-215 near 1800 East when witnesses say they saw him tense up, curl up and fall off the bike.
Sgt. Keith Dockstader of the Utah Highway Patrol said the crash caused another driver to swerve. "After she saw him go down, she did have to go into the lane, the adjacent lane, to avoid from running over him. And fortunately, she was paying enough attention to what she was doing that she was able to do that."
Emergency crews say the man's injuries appear to have been more from his medical condition than the crash itself.
