COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — A woman looking for a job at a Cottonwood Heights care center instead found herself being groped against her will by an employee during the interview process, according to a criminal charge lodged Thursday.

Documents filed in 3rd District Court say Jacob Rye, 35, of Holladay, was working at the Conventry Care Center in Cottonwood Heights in July when a woman came in for a job interview.

Rye, who at the time worked in the kitchen area of the assisted living center, began to show her around. While in the stairwell, Rye began touching the woman in several places over her clothing, according to the charging documents.

A second-degree felony charge of forcible sexual abuse has been filed against Rye, who no longer works at the center.
