Shelley Osterloh Reporting The US Ski and Snowboard team, which is headquartered in Park City, is doing its part to contribute to Team USA's medal haul.

Last night it was American and part time Utah resident Toby Dawson's turn to shine on the moguls.

Dawson won his spot on the Olympic team just last month at the World Cup. And last night, he did not dissappoint, as he took the bronze medal.

Going into the competition was Jeremy Bloom, who was widely considered the medal favorite. But he finished just off the podium in fourth. It was Toby Dawson who saved the day with this run.

Its been a tough road to Torino for Toby. He's had a lot of injuries... a broken leg, torn ligaments, broken foot. He said he was just happy to get healthy in time for the Olympics, and get in front of the judges.

And in double luge, the best American finish came from Utah slider Preston Griffall and partner Dan Joye. They finished in 8th place --- a great performance for the young first time Olympians.

The US medal favorites -- Brian Martin and Mark Grimmette --- won silver and bronze in the last two Olympics. But a crash dashed their dream of winning the gold. They did not even complete the first run.

So, as usual at the Olympics, some joy and dissapointment. Toby's medal now means that the US Ski and Snowboard team has 6 medals so far.
